Snowshoes are one of the best ways to get outside and enjoy winter and the snow. They encourage adventure, exercise, family fun, and a great connection to the mountains and nature. At Potter Brothers, we’re proud to carry TUBBS SNOWSHOES, a brand recognized as leaders in this wonderful outdoor category.
Selecting the right pair of Snowshoes for you depends on a couple of different factors including Snow Conditions, Terrain, Traction and the User’s Weight. In general though, Snowshoes are offered in 3 different categories.
Backcountry
Backcountry Snowshoeing means breaking trail to a destination of your choosing. You’re not following tracks and you’re relying on your ability to route plan and navigate. These Snowshoes will offer plenty of traction, float and an easier ability to climb due to their ActiveLift Heel Lift.
Day Hiking
Day Hiking Snowshoeing may include a variety of terrain including established trails as well as some technical climbs. You may be going out with your friends or even your dog and you’re willing to explore the trails and mountains. These Snowshoes offer tons of versatility in all snow conditions.
Trail Walking
Trail Walking Snowshoeing is generally on flat/level terrain such as a rail trail. It’s a great way to get started with Snowshoeing and enjoy the outdoors and fresh air while staying active during the winter months.
