If you’re jonesin’ to ski or ride during the Thanksgiving holiday (we definitley are), THANKFULLY there will be a few ski areas who will be spinning their lifts over the weekend. Here’s the scoop on who’s open and what to expect:
Jiminy Peak:
Our friends at Jiminy Peak know how to make snow and make it effeciently. They’ll be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday (9am-4pm) with 9 interconnected trails, with more than 2 miles of skiing on 32 acres with 3 lifts running. The base rate for a lift ticket will be $45 and value cards and all season passes will also be honored. Go to www.jiminypeak.com for further information.
Bromley:
The Sun Mountain Express will spin from 11am to 4pm Saturday, 11/28 and 8:30am to 4pm on Sunday, 11/29, servicing intermediate/advanced terrain only on Upper and Lower Twister, with no easy way off the summit. Gore:
Gore is opening on Friday! It looks like they will get started with Showcase first, serviced by #AEII. Look for more snowmaking on Showcase, Lower Sleighride, Sunway, and the Arena whenever weather allows, so more terrain will be added over the weekend. Bring them a non-perishable food item for their drive and your daily lift ticket price for Opening Weekend will be $38 for adults, $29 for teens and seniors, and just $20 for juniors. www.goremountain.com
Killington:
The Beast of the East is ready to deliver full top-to-bottom skiing and riding starting on Thanskgiving day with expanded terrain coming at you daily. Look for 15 trails and 3 lifts. Hours of lift operation are 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Thursday 11/26-Sunday 11/29.Skiing and snowboarding is on advanced terrain only and no easier terrain is available at this time.
