Every year at our annual demo day we search for that one WOW ski that seems to take your skiing to the next level. Sometimes it’s really hard to find because, well, EVERYTHING seems to ski great. Each of our staff can typically test 7-8 different pair of skis in a given day, and when it’s all over we compare notes and come up with the greatest hits of the day.
For 2016, one of our hands-down favorite skis was the Blizzard Brahma. The Brahma may not wow you on paper or in the ski rack as it doesn’t show off it’s tech with any noticable bling on the ski’s surface. However, it’s what inside that really makes the difference.
Blizzard’s revolutionary rocker technology called “FlipCore” is a natural, non-artificial bend in the ski’s core that optimizes pressure distribution on the edge of the skis. The result is a ski with incredible maneuverability and grip throughout the turn. It also allows the ski to float above soft snow with it’s lighter tip for the perfect balance in any condition.
The Brahma comes in at 88mm underfoot with a 19m turn radius (180cm). For east-coast skiing, this is a homerun combination that can easily become your go-to ski in a variety of condtions.
